If it’s prolonged, and goes on for years/decades, you’ll burn out so bad, you’ll never recover from it, and never be the same.

I felt the same way. I suppose I had a choice to walk away from it all, but then I couldn’t live with myself, and had no idea where I would go, or what I would do, so I stayed with it, until released by circumstances, and by then I had lost a large part of myself. I recovered somewhat, and that took years, but I was never the same again. You do what you can live with, even when it’s hell for you, and destroying you. Sometimes the choice is one bad choice and another bad choice. I suppose the bad choice you know is better than the bad choice that is unknown to you. Familiarity accounts for a lot, even in a bad situation. Peace and love to you. @DHggmu
