I HAVE been associated with people I have nothing to do with. I've also been the subject of false rumors. Unfortunately, even when I show proof-positive evidence I'm not doing what they think I'm doing, they would rather continue with their conjecturing and false allegations, especially when they have like-minded friends to corroborate their claims.

I think it's a form of addiction with people. Their need to be right is greater than their need to know the truth and face the possibility they may have been wrong about someone. Their egos can't take that.
