I bought a new swimsuit...

Try wearing it around your house. Like even if you aren’t going swimming, just put it on for a few hours whenever you have time, and let yourself get used to wearing it.
That tends to help me when I’m scared to wear somethjng out. You can also get like a sheer cover-up to help. So people can see the swimsuit but you feel not quite as seen. Then you can work up to taking the cover up off if you feel comfortable.

I didnt wear a two piece until i was 50 coz i felt self conscious, but when we went on holiday to Spain ( id only packed one piece swimsuits), i saw wonen of all shapes and sizes and ages rocking their bikinis....so...i went and bought one! I have loads now!

You could always style it with a coverup and a sun hat when you are not actually in the water.

Wear it at the nearest nude beach and you'll feel positively over dressed.. XD

You probably won't meet anyone you know while you're wearing it at the beach or wherever you go. Or if you think you might, go a bit farther away and wear it there.

Maybe wear a light cover up or a sarong until you get comfortable.

I'm in the same boat. I'd bought some speedos last year and I never went out with them. Then again, I didn't really go any place. But I am not brave enough to wear it out like I thought I would be.

Go wash your car in your driveway or sideyard, and see how you feel doing that, or start out with a cover-up at the pool and disrobe at your chair. That may help.

I am sure you'll look fine. Don't feel ashamed about wearing it. If you go to the beach, I doubt you'll find anyone there that will recognize you if you feel this way.

at home wear a 2 piece, if having company or invited to a pool party then a one-piece

Wear it around the house to get use to it

Bring a cover up for security
