Got my life saved..........
...following on from that thread yesterday about getting your life saved.
Well here is what happened to me:
When I was 10 I went out fishing with another kid from my village.
We were all decked out in our whites, polo shirts, shorts ect and had all the lastest fishing kit we got
for our birthdays. Another kid asked if he could go with us and we told him no and laughed!
He ran after us and caught up with us 5 mins said he'd spoken to his mom, we told him you still can't come.
He said no, his mom had told him there was a storm on the way and not to go fishing in the usual spot.
As it was liable to flooding and the rain would turn the river bank into a river of mud and we'd struggle to get
out of there. We just laughed and told him his mum and he didn't know what they were talking about.
We got there and tried for an hour but couldn't catch a fish! Then the skies opened up and it rained and rained
and rained...the river banks burst and we couldn't climb up.
We were so scared we'd drown in the water but the kid had ran to where we were fishing, tied a rope to the trunk
of a tree at the top and payed it down to us, we managed to grab hold of that and get back to safety.
His mum was so impressed with him, as were our mums they called the local paper, who bought that kid a new fishing
rod, bike and put the story on the front cover! Oh wow, turned him into a local hero and celebrity.
