If you continuously post I’m lonely, I’m depressed yet don’t make an effort to seek help. Does that mean some people like to dwell on being sad?

I know being depressed or lonely is not something you would wish on your own worse enemy. Why do people post the same thing day after day. Are they really lonely or just looking for attention.

When you're in that head space for a while, it can tend to get comfortable. Dangerously so.
Even if you are able to imagine something better, you break it apart in your head and convince yourself it can't possibly be done.
It takes a lot of work.
Maybe we are enabling people to be like this. @SW-User

@Grassisnotgreenerontheothersid Maybe, maybe not. You can choose not to encourage them if you wish.
I don’t know what to say because I se it daily. I flick past it, don’t want to offend anyone on their post.@SW-User

@Grassisnotgreenerontheothersid Maybe those people come on here because at least here, they can get some possible positive attention - offline, they could have some really serious issues that make coming online and asking for attention mild in comparison.
I understand that, I wanted to understand if asking the same questions daily, multiple times a day help them to feel better or are we enabling them to stay miserable. @SW-User

@Grassisnotgreenerontheothersid I feel there's a lot more under the hood that we will probably never understand about a particular person.
