Living at uni and quite literally alone

Mature student surrounded by younger students. 32 years of age is a good age to get a degree, but trying to fit in? Not happening lmao..

Anyone else had a similar experience?

I don’t think I would live at Uni if I was a mature student. I remember my last year at a new college, I was 20. A lot of people I knew were 16-17. That’s only a few years but I felt old. Can’t imagine what over 10 years would be like. Saying that my best friend for a year was 15 years younger than me and was at Uni, I was at home. Knew him from work. It’s not uncommon to have younger friends so I think we should be able to relate to younger people even if we don’t fit in.

To be honest there was no comment ever made about my age (a few people I lived with did enquire about my age). Effort was made to include me in the socials so there was never any awkwardness. At least not on the students part anyway lol
