Living at uni and quite literally alone

Mature student surrounded by younger students. 32 years of age is a good age to get a degree, but trying to fit in? Not happening lmao..

Anyone else had a similar experience?

Different stages of life.
Partying your @$$ off is a lot more fun in your early 20's (supposedly) but you have no appreciation or understanding of anything at that age.

This is one reason why I've never understood why they push kids into college who have no experience of life or work or careers yet largely ignore all us middle agers who actually want to study.

Have to wonder at the daft student loans fiasco too... specifically created to amass debt in the young ?

Good for you if you're studying and enjoying it !

@Picklebobble2 I went at 18, 45 years ago now, and while I didn’t fully appreciate the academics, the experience was very formative and some relationships have lasted, and while I cringe to think back on the person I was then, I would do it all over again.

Just last week, in fact, we had a Zoom reunion with 12 of us who lived in the same dorm in 1978-79. I felt an unspoken but unique bond with the others.
