I'm going to tell you a story.

A man is born on the eastern coast of his country. He grows up, goes to school, learns to speak, read, and write. He is taught that where he is from there is a certain way of doing things. On the eastern border, everyone goes to work in the morning. In the afternoon everyone practices their religion and spends time with their family. On the eastern border, mostly everyone is also proficient with a gun because there are threats of being attacked on this border there is also abundant wildlife for hunting and it is a main source of food. This man grows up learning these ways and one day decides to travel to his country's capital.
At the same time there is a man who is born on the western coast of his country. He grows up, goes to school, learns to speak, read, and write. He is taught that where he is from there is a certain way of doing things. On the western border, people work in three different shifts morning, evening and night. Religion is frowned upon and people are more focused on what they can see and feel. No one carries a weapon because they are forbidden. They also have an ocean on this border, so most of their food is brought in from other places. This man grows up learning these ways and one day decides to travel to the capital of his country.
Meanwhile in the capital, there is a group of people who are powerful and control what happens in the country. They were born from the richest families in all of the regions of the country. They twist and bend the laws so that they can keep more money for themselves. They then divise a plan to divide themselves into what look like two different groups. One appeals to the western coast and one appeals to the eastern coast. They prey upon the beliefs of both sides and garner support for themselves. They see the two young men entering the city and they look at them like snakes who are coiled and ready to strike their prey.
The man from the east stops to order some food and sits next to the man from the west. Over a meal they discuss their backgrounds and traditions. They disagree on some things, but for the most part gain some knew understanding from eachother. They shake hands and go their separate ways.
Days later there is a confrontation in the city between a faction from the western coast and a faction from the eastern coast. The two men are involved. The altercation is broken up by state police, but there are meetings in both factions and an attack is planned the following week. Both sides are planning to destroy eachother.
Meanwhile there is a third man who comes from the southern border. People from the southern part of the country are notoriously poor and unsophisticated. No one important has ever come from the southern part of the country. But this man seems to be different. He speaks as though he is educated, he gets along with people from both the east and the west, and he seems to know what he is talking about. On the same day that the confrontation happened in the city, this man arrives. Over the next several days he goes to where the powerful people meet and attempts to expose how members of both sides are really just the same. On his way to this place one day, he meets the man from the western coast and the man from the eastern coast. He explains to the two men that their differences make them able to do more if they work together and that their leaders are lying to them. Just because they are different doesn't mean they have to be enemies. So the two men decide not to take part in the attacks, and they are able to convince some other people to do the same.
The powerful people find out about this. They decide that the man from the southern border is a threat to them and needs to be eliminated. So instead of attacking him themselves, they have the leaders of the two factions meet. They tell them about the three men who are "spreading misinformation". At dawn, on the day that both factions were set to attack eachother, they instead hunt down the three men. Both groups unite to take part on the bloody murder of the three men as they drag them through the streets. Their bodies are left on the capitol steps for all to see. Both factions are lost in their bloodlust and forget their hatred for one another. They enjoy one night of truce and a drunken celebration ensues. In the morning, things return to normal. But there are people who remember working together, and resolve their differences. A seed is planted. The powers that be lament that they no longer have control.
Take what you will from this.
