What’s something you’ve learned lately?

For me, I don’t know how or when it happened, but I’ve kind of, stopped taking what others say or do, personally. I’d always wonder if something I said or did caused someone to behave in a certain way. Now, my mind has just adapted the way it functions to the fact that other people are separate individuals with their own lives, beliefs, emotions and that things happen to them too.

This has made me care less about what they think. I still do care somewhat, but not as much as I used to, I guess.

And it comes from the fact that I’ve internalized that the world does not revolve around me. People aren’t perfect. They do things. And so do I. So I don’t blame myself for their reactions. What they do or say is probably on them.
Besides, I’m pretty careful to not offend someone, so there’s no reason for them to behave the way they do because of me, anyway.

I hate hurting other people, so I’m usually good in that sense. Even when I do, I do it only when I absolutely have to and I feel guilty about it later.

I’ve also learned to be an observer of people and things. I’m trying not to react immediately to everything around me. It’s okay to take a step back, breathe and think and feel, before reacting to anything.
