Here's another way, I look at life, that makes things so much easier.
Life is a continuous process of learning and growing, always challenging us, and problems were not meant to be torment. They were meant to help keep us aware and alert, and I believe when we have a challenge, it is God trying to tell us that something is not working for us, so it needs to be changed. Not in a negative way, but in a way that will give us better quality of life. I know I can't have a better quality of life, until I take responsibility to address the challenge at hand and remedy it, with the Lord's guidance. Only then, do things fall into place, and in the right order, so I can move on to the next challenge. I know I can trust God to give me the best possible outcome because he can seem to my future and he knows better, what I need.
I have found that if I ignore what needs correcting in my life, and try to move to the next phase of my life, that doesn't get rid of the dirt under the rug. That still needs to be addressed before I move on, or it will come up in different ways and continue to be a problem, until I take the initiative to address and take care of it, once and for all. That way, I don't get to step three, then inevitably have to come all the way back again to step one, if I take care of it in the very beginning.
We have these challenges for a reason, so we must never ignore them. When we address challenges and get through them, that builds our faith and also shows us what we're made of; that we are capable of doing so much more than we think. Perseverance is key. God not only made us problem solvers, he also equipped us with the right tools, to meet any challenge that comes along. However, if we want to have the wisdom to handle them the right way, that comes from God. Things go so much smoother and better, when I ask God to give me wisdom. God's Word, says that we don't automatically have wisdom. James 1:5 encourages followers of Christ with this:
"But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally and upbraideth (without finding fault) not; and it shall be given him." That is because God loves to give gifts to his children and help them.
Proverbs 3:7 - "Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear (show reverence and respect to) the Lord, and depart from evil."
Challenges gives us gifts we can use throughout our whole life. Jesus said, "In all these things, we are MORE than conquerers, through Christ, who loves us." Romans 8:37
If God solved every one of our problems for us, we would never learn and grow to maturity. Instead, he wisely gives us direction, when we ask him. He gives us the strength and perseverance to get through them, and that's even better!
Israel had a big problem. On one side was the sea...on the other hand, they faced the Egyptian Army that wanted to kill them. But Moses told them: "The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent." (Exodus 14:14) Since they turned to God for help, he made a way, where there seemed to be no way. God protected his children, as promised in His Word. He opened up the Sea and the Israelites walked across the dry land and as they reached the other side, their enemies, who wanted to kill them, followed behind, but the sea closed up upon them and their evil, and covered them. This is in the book of Exodus.
David, literally had a giant problem. He had to fight goliath, a trained warrior, who towered more than 9 ft over him. David was a follower of God and he said: "The Lord... will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine!" (1 Samuel 17:37). And God did. However, David exercised his faith, as he slung the stone to beat Goliath, and it landed directly as targeted...between Goliath's eyes and he immediately fell dead to the ground. Many other problems, could be added to these examples, but these are enough to give us some insight into God helping us solve our problems. It is God, who gives us real wisdom, to handle them wisely.
Without the eyes of faith, it is easy to tell the story of how Moses was saved and how David killed Goliath, and pass them off as just examples of human ingenuity and courage. Yet, God works in and through, our own efforts. He is leading us. We get wisdom from God, to solve our problems in a much more, effective way. God also gives us the wisdom, through His Word, to deal with life's problems. God is bigger than our problems and he's always there wanting to help us, any time we call upon him. It is Satan that gives us the spirit of fear; God, that has given us the spirit of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. Second Timothy 1:7
