It saddens, disappoints and immensely frustrates me to be near my family right now

I want to get on a plane again and fly 9,000 miles to the other end of the globe and stay there till my heart is fond of them again.

can't you simply tell them that because of your increased academic load and teaching you'll be *much less available* for the foreseeable future?
