When life treats us badly does that mean we have to blame God ?

When anything goes bad does it have to have meaning behind it ? Like if your bike is stolen, does that mean that you deserved it ? Or did it happen simply because you were unlucky and there wasn't really a reason. You were just chosen to have your bike stolen.
