I Believe Life Is a Life Long Lesson

To get a non voluntary "mental" hospitalization (5150), a person must be determined a threat to themselves or others. This has to be done using police assistance.

But in mental hospitals people are regularly coerced or lied to to get them there and once there they are simply locked in after information is fabricated. This is patently illegal yet this is done probably MORE than not.

What think intelligent SWeeps? Got outrage, anyone?

I have no personal knowledge of patients being coerced, however I have heard patients stating/arguing this exact scenario with staff when I had occasion to visit someone in the behavior health wards.

So one would assume that it does indeed occur.

In the cases that I’ve seen personally these people would otherwise be put in prison. I think. I don’t know. Just talking from personal experience.

Mental health is SEEN as a "public safety" issue so people don't take a closer look at the essential SCAM endorsing it. Medicaid and Medicare money is insanely easy to get if you know the game.

Do you know anyone actually in the mental health field? The want the patients out of there asap, there aren't enough beds to go around otherwise. I don't think it is done more than not.

The "system" wants to scam $$$ off these illegal places and the poor suckers railroaded into them. That is why they (still) exist. That blather about "closing" them was vicious lying PR to keep them OPEN...but NICER looking on the outside.

I started hearing that blather around 1965.

Also the scam is BIGGER now so less patients need to be exploited to achieve the crime.
