This belongs in the category...."You almost have to be a Catholic to get it..."

In prep school, in the alcove of the chapel, there was a statue of the Infant Jesus from Prague that was purported to be 300 years old and was kind of like the pride and joy of the Catholic community.

We took it and put it in a safe place, wrapped securely with cushy blankets in an old armoire, inside the chapel vestry. We replaced Infant Jesus with a 3 foot tall plastic statue of Mickey Mouse dressed as the "Sorcerer's Apprentice."

We thought a priest or an altar boy would easily discover it when they pulled out vestments to dress for celebrating a mass and then everyone would have a good laugh at this innocent prank. But they didn't see the statue lying down on the bottom beneath the rack of vestments!

The resulting bedlam and hysteria from the community scared the daylights out of us. You think someone kidnapped the President or something.

We put an anonymous note in the principal's office detailing where the statue was. We were a little freaked that some people wanted the statue dusted for prints so they could apprehend the "criminals" and a lot more relieved that they didn't.

I swore that was going to be the last prank I'd ever do....but a couple years later in college I was at it again, lol.
