I Believe Life Is a Life Long Lesson

Meditation is an Experience. Experiencing who you really are..

Here is a story that helps you understand the state of Meditation, and also have you live better with the problems you are having in your life.

There is a very rich king, who is fond of various forms of arts such as painting, dance, music and plays. He always wants to explore his inner talent and see all the infinite possible things he can do to entertain himself.

So one day he joins a play / stage-show.

In this play, the king is playing the role of Beggar.

The beggar is a character, who is very very poor, and has very limited capacities to survive in the world. He is almost illiterate, and is living very difficult life.

The beggar has a wife who always fights with him and curses him for not being able to earn much for the family. She also scold him for being a wrong life partner, and makes drama everyday for blaming her parents to marry her with the beggar.

The poor beggar has 10 kids, who are very naughty and do not listen to him at all. They always do what they want to do and create new troubles for the family.

The beggar has few childhood friends who did go to school and are now very very rich. One of those friends have become the mayor of the city and is living very luxurious life.

The beggar’s wife always shows him the difference of living they live and the one his friend’s has got. She curses him for not being able to do anything for a better life and bring some good money so that they can have all the luxuries of their life.

The beggar is trying his best to do anything that is possible but no one including his own friends are willing to help him. He is very helpless and crying days and nights, cursing the God for giving him such a life.

Frustrated, One day he decides to end his life, seeing no other option to bring any further goodness to his life and go on the top of the hill to commit suicide.

Just when he is about to jump, he see a very peaceful, calm sadhu who is smiling at him with all love.

Surprised with his peaceful face, the beggar goes to the sadhu and tells him all his worries in hope to get a solution. He asks the sadhu, “Why he is having so many problems in life? is there any solution to his problems?”

The sadhu, with a smile, lifts his hand and point his finger in a direction, and say

“Go there, and you will find all solutions to your worries. “

The beggar asks him with doubt, “How can going to that direction will solve my all problems?”

The sadhu says “Because, once you reach there, you will remember who you are!”

The beggar becomes more confused, and says “But what is the connection of knowing who I am, to the problems I have got?

You are not understanding my problem. I am a very very poor beggar, who has no skills, with a huge family to feed, and no friends to help.

I want to know how I can get rich?

How I can have good relationships?

How can I excel in my life and career?

And you are saying that going into that direction will solve my problem?

By knowing who am I?

How is that possible even remotely?”

Here is the ultimate truth!

When the beggar goes into the given direction, he will reach to the make-up room, where he will see the make-up related things. When he applies them on his face, his make-up will be removed one by one, and then one day in the mirror he will see his real face.

The beggar is not a real beggar, he is a King acting as Beggar, who forgot his reality.

What do you think will happen, after the beggar remembers that he is a real king with an unlimited treasure, and all that he was worried including the family, making a living and all, was part of a play?

Will he still cry, and curse his life? or he will laugh and go back to the stage, only to enjoy his role now?

As shakespeare said,
All the world's a stage, And all the men and women merely players; They have their exits and their entrances

The make-up room is Meditation.

The process is to undone the makeup.

The ultimate stage of meditation is Self Expression.

Meditation is Experience.

Experiencing who you really are..

Hope this story changes the way you look at your life and your problems.

Best Wishes. :)
