The minimum isn't always easy.
If you can't understand someone, at least don't pull them to what you can understand.
If you can't love, strive to not make them hate themselves.
If you can't afford kindness towards differences, strive to not engage others in cruelty.
If forgiveness is beyond your potential,strive to not trap them in a battle to gain your favor.
If you can't be generous in your dealings, strive to not take more than you can give.
There is always the least of two "evils".
So if you can't do good, strive to not sabotage someone else's good, and that's good in itself.
