The rousing conclusion to splurge day
I am truly set now, overall in the grand scheme of things there's little else i want or need. Some things will be nice on the kindle that i already own physically, some eBooks would be nice to have physical copies of. What i lack generally is C.G Jung, Wilhelm Reich, some works by Kierkegaard, the biggest would be Works of Love and The Sickness Unto Death in the Princeton edition, Lev Shestov's Athens and Jerusalem, and books on Nietzsche, and books on any author or person i'm terribly interested in. And the Eastern realm if i ever feel up to it really, it can make me feel dizzy just thinking of that realm, and i must admit that the Western tradition is right up my alley, i'm predominatedly bowled over by Christianity and philosophy, in this strain of thought even Kant is intriguing, how he tried to make amends between faith and rationality. I must also supplement everything with internet resources, there's just so much on YouTube alone!! Lectures and educational stuff, plus documentaries, and history lessons etc. Blogs, podcasts, oh it's endless!!!
Tao teh ching
Aeschylus - has Seven from Thebes which is the play that theatre troupe in Rivette's Out 1 was rehearsing!!!
Sophocles
Euripides
Aristophanes
Meister Eckhart - this is where some of what Hegel was going on came from, and i always found this mystic intriguing!!
St John of the Cross
New Science by Giambattista Vico - a hoot for Oswald Spengler fanatics
Henrik Ibsen
George Bernard Shaw
Now i retire, and any further activity from me here will just be purely to enjoy other people's existence, and hopefully not be a pain to as few as possible. Cheers from me and my kindle!! 😁
