I Hate When Good Things End

I've never watched the final episodes of some of my favourite TV series (The West Wing, Parks & Recreation, etc) because I want to pretend to myself that the characters I've come to know and in a vague way come to know as kind-of friends are still living their lives somewhere in the world I've known them in. It's probably bordering on the silly because all good things... [to quote the final title of the finale of yet another series I'm fond of, Star Trek the Next Generation]...come to an end.
But good TV or a good party or a holiday with friends or a concert I'm really in to, the feeling of melancholy as I realise that it's over is at first stronger than I can sometimes cope with...even though I know in my head that there will be at least as good things that will be starting again at some point in the future soon

Very true that’s always a sad feeling.
