About the Murdoch Murders and one of the remaining Murdock family says, "We are just ordinary people."

Sir, have you ever lived a day on ramen noodles and water? Have you ever had to worry about when you car breaks down, how you are going to get to works, pick up your kids *and* how to afford the repairs? Have you ever gone grocery shopping and had to put things back because they wrnt over the money you had to spend?

No.

You rich people are not "ordinary people". You have no concept of what the ordinary person deals with on the daily. Please sit back down on your throne and shut up.

Not only have they historically had wealth but they've also wielded a lot of power and influence in their part of the state for generations ... never mind this specific Murdaugh family member's estate was 1,700 acres

Just the way their kids would play in boats is not indicative of being ordinary people (this trope is also depicted in a series like Outer Banks in a way which I think distorts reality of life in this area)

They also embody some of the name pronunciation oddities of this region, though generally the unexpected pronunciations around here don't derive from Irish names like this family / this man, but more often and understandably with the names of French Huguenot origin (e.g., Huger is "hew-gee" and Legare is "luh-gree") ... for a long time I thought all the people in the media were saying "Alex Murdaugh" incorrectly but it's another oddity of our area
