@uikakarotuevegeta So we communicate in vacuous pejoratives on here to denote our 'tribe'? What happens when you want to actually use the words to mean something? I will try to remember this post as it explains a lot about what is bad about social media: just shout at the other side without engaging with real ideas. But I'm genuinely grateful for the honesty.

@FreddieUK well not necessarily here, but other places too. human nature is quite tribal and as the idiom goes (however inaccurate it may be): if it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and walks like a duck, then it's probably a duck. It's actually hilarious that the liberal MSM associates populism with right wing extremism, when populism innately isn't tied to any specific part of the political spectrum. Or anyone who tries to be more progressive than Renaissance ideologies is automatically labelled a Satanic communist by conservative influencers.

@uikakarotuevegeta I like this more nuanced commentary. I want to think that it is possible for people to become less tribal and more empathetic to where other people are in their thinking, although I recognise that I can be sharply insensitive sometimes.
