Eerie experience

One time when me and my mom were sleeping in our old apartment, we heard something fall into the kitchen sink. We both got up to investigate because we were the only ones in the apartment. Then we found a kitchen knife in the sink even though the whole kitchen was cleaned and organized before we went to sleep. There was no way it could've fell in because the knife wasn't even near the sink when we cleaned up after dinner, it was in the drawer.

To this day, we have no idea how that happened. I thought maybe we should check the front door to see if it was unlocked but apparently my mother had checked both the front door and the patio door before I left my bedroom. She told me they were both closed and locked so that wasn't possible.
