I Have Non-24-hour Sleep-wake Syndrome
It's Not Me, It's A Friend... I don't want to give too many details for the sake of privacy. It's someone very close to me. I've seen the way it affects her ability to live a normal life.
Doctors, don't make me laugh. You go to a sleep clinic and all they do is test you for apnea. I called hospitals and clinics, but with one exception they didn't even know what I was talking about. Step one to getting help, I'm told, is to keep a log of your sleeping/waking times and how well you slept, etc. Who can do that when they're half dead?
Supposedly, this is a rare condition. Well, they once thought Lyme disease was rare, too. This needs more publicity and educate more doctors to recognize and treat it.
