I Love Southern Sayings
i have lived in the south my entire life and i love being a southerner. and i just think i came up with the best southern compliment ever xD
"well aren't you just a big swig of sweet tea"? with a wink
my gosh if that is not a southern saying i am making it one now! XD i love it! i love how we talk even if some of it is back handed. like where i work, its normal to get called sweetie and darlin and love all those things by complete strangers just because they want to be sweet to you. if a waitress does not say "what ya havin sweetie pie"? i do not wanna live there. i just love how sweet and nice almost 100% of my town in. a population of 7,000+ but still the nicest and sweetest and most caring people. heck strangers will give you would for your fire place for free, let you come chop it up on their property and everything else if you need it. the north might have snow and laws that do not revolve around religion as much making it "more free" than how we have it but i would not take anything for my little town. mod bogs on the weekends, dealing with tipsy people at one am trying to get beer they know damn well they can't have. (we have a law in my town, no beer can be sold after one am). but i just love my town and all its people. some southern towns are too racist, i agree on that, and the further down you go the hospitality can change and some southerners are little nuts... (my dad for instance thinks he owns the road in front of the house and no one is allowed to par in front of our yard or he goes and gets a gun XD that mainly only happens when his sugar gets low he is a type 1 and a 1/2 diabetic) anyways, i just love my town so much and love its hospitality and how wonderful the people are. and i love what we say and how we talk. and i love my southern accent. would not get rid of my automatic sign of southern for nothing in the world. other than when northern people wanna here me talk -_- that crap gets aggravating reeeal quick!
