I Stood Up A Date

I once stood a girl up on purpose. Why? not cuz I was angry with her, not cuz I was just in a bad mood,it was bcuz I didn't like how she kept flirting with other guys. I wasn't used to that. I expected a little loyalty.

Now it's not like we agreed to a date, it was a casual hey let's go out to dinner together after work. Yah there had been some flirting between us and my silly young naive self thought the flirting had some significance., but then i realized this girl flirts all the time, with everyone practically.

So at the last minuet I decided not to show up or call her lol. My reasoning was that she would see I was more serious about us after we talked. So the next day she was a little pissed, didnt know why I stood her up and so I politely and calmly told her exactly why. She wasn't pissed, but she was a little cranky about it, and brought it up a few more times.

Well needless to say, things didn't go anywhere after that. She just kept it really casual while I was hoping for more. Back then, I wasn't the subservient type of guy; wasn't keen on being an extra guy in the pocket type of thing.

What lesson would you take away from that?
