I Got An Internship

It took me a few weeks after college but I finally got an internship and I feel really lucky. I'm in film so finding an internship where I live in the suburbs is very rare. My internship is at a performing arts center where I post updates on social media about what shows are coming and when to buy tickets for them. I also write a blog for the center to better promote the shows. I make sure to add character to the blog by making the tone quirky, funny, and enthusiastic so that people don't read this blog like a brochure which we already have. My next project for the center to is take videos of the rehearsals for a new original show we have going on about rock stars clashing with zombies. We're hoping to make promos of the show to put on YouTube before it premieres which is in a month. The challenge will be that the only cameras I have are my FlipVideo which doesn't have the best zoom (hopefully no one finds it awkward if I have to be up close and personal) and my iPhone. Hopefully they come out great and looks as professional as possible. I've also never used iMovie which is the only editing system I have. Well, I'm not one to back away from a challenge. It's also nice to have your first internship be with a supervisor who is very sweet. She treats me like we're friends and she doesn't make too many editing changes when it comes to my posts or my blogs. It's nice to have someone depend on you to help them out and trusts your mind and skills. I really hope this internship opens up opportunities for me. If I'm lucky, maybe the center will give me a paid job there if I do a good job or maybe tell me about auditions occurring at the center as well. Fingers crossed.
