I Love The Contortionist

For those of you who don't know, The Contortionist is a technical metal band ba<x>sed out of Indianapolis, Indiana. Unlike other metal music, their work is more rhythm and instrumentals ba<x>sed, rather than focusing on outrageously hard instrument playing and thrash-style lyrics, like Slipknot or System Of A Down; they have their hard streaks, but overall, it's a gentler, more rhythmic metal; not unlike Deftones, but a unique sound all their own. One of my best friends introduced me to this band at work one night and I was instantly hooked. (And I'm not even a huge metal fan and never was!) They have since become a huge part of my life, and their music invokes emotions for me that I've seldom felt before in my entire existence. They've motivated me to try to learn how to play guitar, and the feelings their music stirs up for me are nothing short of ethereal. I credit these guys with a lot of happiness in my recent life, and I'd like to encourage anyone who reads this story to at least give them a listen. Here's a link to a song from their new album Language, which will be released tomorrow as of the date I'm writing this story. Enjoy!

^ If the above link happens to be too easy of music for you, try YouTubing their Intrinsic album. If that is still not hard enough for you, try their previous album Exoplanet.
