I Hate A Ratfink

Tattle Tale - Fink - Snitch... They all have a name, they are your co-workers who spy on you to see what you are doing. They are the people who have no real need for anything that you have other than they saw you have something on your computer that although was fine to have, just cause it is on the computer and it is frowned on they have to go to the boss to tell them.

They watch you no matter what your doing and have to go tell that to someone that your not marching totally in step with everyone else, your wearing sunglasses in the building and not outside.  You have different wallpaper than the windows default on your computer, you have a video that is not work related on your laptop.

They tell your boss and then you have to "clean" up your stuff, make sure that you don't step out of the cadence...

Nothing you can do about it, except bend to it.   The inexplicable need to tell on someone is a impulse that many can't control.

Had a many people like that in my life, think your telling them something in confidence and as soon as they hang up with you they are calling the person that you were talking about and telling them what you said.   That was the last 2 years of my marriage.

Makes you wonder why people come to an anonymous place to say something with out it getting back to the co-worker, the "friend", the boss, the customer.  THE RAT FINK!!!!

Ouch. Luckily for me I'm self-employed, and my biggest client is a porn-friendly, politically incorrect self-made woman.

I'd probably put a sniffer onto the snitch's IP and a keylogger onto his/her computer, then give 'em a taste of their own medicine. Or use an anonymous email address from a coffee-shop network to send them loud video porn at their work address, then make sure the sound is turned up on their workstation. Or sign his work address up for porn spam from dozens of different sites. This is really just the tip of the iceberg, off-the-cuff stuff. In a technologically enabled workplace, the options for payback are almost endless, and a bit of care can ensure you leave no trail back to yourself. ;)
