I Had A Day Off Work Yesterday

I was all set to go to work yesterday.... But I got a telephone call late morning informing me,, my friend was coming down from the north of the UK...






Andy and i have been friends for the best part of thirty years



We met,, whilst both working on the railway
..
And have never in all those years,, disagreed about anything,,or argued about anything
.
We share so many hobbies and interests, photography,,art,, music...and much much more
..


about 10,years ago, after a love affair that took him to Italy for a few years, he had a huge heart issue, that threatened to take him back to his maker...

Well,,thankfully, after major surgery..and a new robo pacemaker..hes still here to tell his tales....

He come back from Italy...and his first issue,, was he was homeless...had no money...and nothing to call his own,,except the clothes on his back...

He managed to find a charity organization..that fed him,, gave him shelter..and in exchange,, he would use his skills as a painter and decorator, to work with the charity..

And now,, he has his own flat in Sheffield,,and apart from some blood issues...which him and the doctors are watching carefully,, he's doing ok...
He's back on his feet ...and life is looking real good for him
..

Getting back to my evening.....









.
He phoned up...to tell me he's in town...

I quickly pulled many strings..
Wheeled and deeled..
And got the evening off of work...


We met up in the local bar...
Had a few pints 🍻
..and I've honestly never laughed as much as I did last night....

Such a good evening...
Twas good to see him looking so healthy...and in such good spirits....


I needed a night out...and that served me just fine...


So .. Here's to my best mate in the world..
