I Am a Monarchist
Monarchy is the best form of government that will work for society today and for the foreseeable future. They are symbol of unity for people of all races and religions in a country that is very diverse. Monarchs will mostly work for the benefit of the whole country because they are the leader for their whole life; they pass it to their children so they will most likely make it a point not to mess anything up. The last things monarchs want are social and political upheavals, not only because it’s bad for them but because it would create panic and fear in the people they want to protect. They are trained from the time they can learn to the time of their coronation how to run a country successfully. Instead you have in supposedly “modern” countries today that are Republics/Democracies policies like Marshal Law, this can be used to disintegrate all power of the former government and turn it over to the military in a state of upheaval, to me that sounds like a dictatorship, and I thought republics like the USA were all about freedoms. Another good thing about a monarch is they learn to be above politics, they can make decisions ba<x>sed on what they feel the country needs. When you have a politician in power they only focus on how they look and getting re-elected, a king/queen, emperor/empress will work for the peoples benefit because they don’t have to worry about winning an election or how they appear (though they do worry about appearances some, it’s not a major thing). True there were a few bad monarchs in history but if you look at it closer that is because the parents pushed their beliefs and ideology on their child, so the child rebelled. And this rebellious phase lasted for the most part their whole life. However monarchs are not and should not be relegated to any one political ideology, they are politically neutral working for the peoples benefit. They are not conservative or liberal; they are monarchs with the soul duty of keeping the peace on earth and leading a country forward, whether you believe they are God’s chosen rulers on earth or not (I personally don’t believe in “Divine Right” but I do see the benefits of Monarchy and they seem very promising)
Quotes on monarchy:
“For every monarchy overthrown the sky becomes less brilliant, because it loses a star. A republic is ugliness set free.” ~Anatole France
“Democracy... while it lasts is more bloody than either aristocracy or monarchy. Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There is never a democracy that did not commit suicide.” ~John Adams
“The best reason why Monarchy is a strong government is that it is an intelligible government. The mass of mankind understand it, and they hardly anywhere in the world understand any other.” ~Walter Bagehot
“The monarchy unites us; the republic would divide us.” ~Francesco Crispi
“It's vital the monarchy keeps in touch with the people. It's what I try and do” ~ Diana, Princess of Wales
“Hereditary monarchy offers numerous advantages for America. It is the only form of government able to unify a heterogeneous people. Thanks to centuries of dynastic marriage, the family tree of every royal house is an ethnic grab bag with something for everybody. We need this badly; America is the only country in the world where you can suffer culture shock without leaving home. We can't go on much longer depending upon disasters like Pearl Harbor and the Iranian hostage-taking to bring us together.” ~Florence King
“There is nothing about which I am more anxious than my country, and for its sake I am willing to die ten deaths, if that be possible.” ~Elizabeth I
“The tendency of an advanced civilization is in truth monarchy.” ~Benjamin Disraeli
“I would rather obey a fine lion, much stronger than myself, than two hundred rats of my own species.” ~Voltaire
“Monarchy can easily be debunked, but watch the faces, mark well the debunkers. These are the men whose taproot in Eden has been cut: whom no rumor of the polyphony, the dance, can reach - men to whom pebbles laid in a row are more beautiful than an arch. Yet even if they desire mere equality they cannot reach it. Where men are forbidden to honour a king they honour millionaires, athletes or film stars instead: even famous prostitutes or gangsters. For spiritual nature, like bodily nature, will be served; deny it food and it will gobble poison.” ~C S Lewis.
“In a Democracy, the real rulers are the dexterous manipulators of votes, with their placemen, the mechanics who so skillfully operate the hidden springs which move the puppets in the arena of democratic elections. Men of this kind are ever ready with loud speeches lauding equality; in reality, they rule the people as any despot or military dictator might rule it.” ~Konstantin Pobedonostsev
“When life seems hard, the courageous do not lie down and accept defeat; instead, they are all the more determined to struggle for a better future.” ~HM Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom & Commonwealth
“The president of a republic is as though you pick a pla<x>yer from one of two teams and make him umpire.” ~Czar Simeon II of Bulgaria
“We have been given an assignment as a monarchy, and we do as well as we can…We try to be as little populistic as possible. We don’t do anything on the spur of the moment to win an opinion poll, or short-term popularity.” ~King Harald V of Norway
“As Dio observed later, democracy sounded very well and good, but its results are seen not to agree at all with its title. Monarchy, on the contrary, has an unpleasant sound, but is a most practical form of government to live under. For it is easier to find a single excellent man than many of them.” ~Stacy Schiff, Cleopatra: A Life
