I Like Watching Squirrels Outside

[youtube=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5CJHajjhzk]
I know that a lot of people hate it when squirrels come along and eat the pumpkins that they went to so much trouble to carve. But we usually get around that by waiting until just before Halloween to carve our pumpkins. This minimizes the chances of our pumpkins getting ruined by the squirrels before Halloween. Then, after Halloween, I don't care what happens to those pumpkins. It's not like we're going to reuse them next year. We're just going to throw them onto the compost pile. So after Halloween is over, the squirrels can have them, as far as I'm concerned. They may as well get a good meal out of them before winter takes hold.

And wouldn't it be a nice added bonus if a squirrel actually carved your pumpkin for you? I found this funny video of a squirrel carving a pumpkin for someone. How do you think this lady got this squirrel to carve her pumpkin for her?

Squirrels are always so fun to watch. I watch them outside of my office all the time. I wish I had their energy.
I agree with RoadPoet in that she probably either painted some clear coating on the pumpkin at those exact spots, or put something distasteful on all the rest of it. They are certainly smart animals, but I don't think they would chew that face on their own.

I'm sure she probably did. That would explain how they chewed out just the right spots on the pumpkin.
