It's not just you, most people are haunted by those "what if" thoughts.
I was thinking today of a girlfriend that I haven't seen for twenty years. If I could go back to that time, I would do things so differently.
Men don't talk about feelings, but I have had discussions with a couple of close friends (drink loosens men's inhibitions sometimes) and they are haunted by the same feelings for old girlfriends.
