I Feel Alone

Does anyone's else family make them feel alone? I could never confide in them and don't trust them. I feel so isolated from them and dread family gatherings. I wish I didn't feel so alone in that way.

Yes, always has / did. I tried to avoid going to family gatherings on any plausible excuse - when I was working shiftwork, it was ideal - 'no, sorry, can't make christmas dinner, I'm working that day'. Eventually moved to a different hemisphere, which is kind of a decisive barrier to family meetups
