I had visual hallucinations this morning along with the auditory ones. Has this ever happened to you?

Hey that's a good question! When I was around 13, I was on a very strong dosage of Aripiprazole (shortened to Abilify). One of it's side effects was hallucinations and I went through some horrific ones that disturbed me for a very long time. At that time, whether I was out or indoors; I would always hear demonic voices and would get feelings of someone touching me, when I was only imagining it. Everytime I looked in the mirror, I could see another person at the corner of my eye. I struggled to sleep at night because I could constantly feel someone pushing my mattress up and could hear plastic bags being pressed underneath my bed and the floor being scratched. It was truly horrifying and it honestly felt as though there was an extra person in the room, when really there wasn't. One night, I ran downstairs 20 times horrified because I felt insects crawling down my skin and could hear demonic grunts. Eventually, I managed to fall asleep but woke up at 4.00am as I could hear, see and feel a demonic figure grabbing me from under the bed and again trying to push my mattress. What seemed to be ok, wasn't ok as I thought it was my cat who was under the bed the whole time. She then ran out of the room. I went back to bed calmly and told myself it was just the cat but the noises carried on and I ended up sleeping on the couch downstairs. The next day my parents took me to see a psychiatric doctor who prescribed me Buspirone to help relieve my anxieties. It made no difference, so after a few weeks we went back to the doctor and he prescribed me sertraline permanently and after a few days, I never heard from those hallucinations ever again. I believe that hallucinations can happen to people with certain mental health conditions or are on specific medication, though some have known to have had minor ones if they are tired or are half-awake, half asleep. It tends to also happen during the sleep paralysis process.

@TheSarfendDiva7: isn't it great when they give you stuff that makes you worse?

Yes, more-so when I haven't had my medication. Usually things like hearing a car alarm, or thinking someone said something and they haven't. Sometimes it's like I see someone in the corner of my eye. The most common one is seeing what looks like lots of little flies flying around in front of me

I get distant tinny radios and idling car engines all the time :/

Yeah, I have auditory hallucinations when I don't get enough sleep. It's normal though, I guess

Not me. But has anything changed in your life, diet, medications?

I missed my shot. I think they do it on purpose. Every time there is a screwup or Chang in policy, I become more physicadellic.
