Boring question time. If there was a free-market without any government at all, would you be more or less likely to end up with monopolies?

I mean love Bill Gates; Jeff Bezos; Larry Page; Sergei Brin etc all you want.
But if any of them decide to start supplying your fuel or your food on a mass scale..........
