What's the most terrifying thing that almost happened to you?

Having the engine on my airplane quit while I was over a lake. It turned out the gas attendant had forgot to put the gas cap back on and all the fuel was sucked out of the tank. Fortunately I had another tank with gas in it and by switching tanks I had the engine running before I lost 500 ft. Fastest engine failure diagnosis I ever made.

A few weeks ago, I was on the edge of an overlook. I tripped in a hole right next to edge and nearly tumbled over. The drop was like 2,000 feet.
