Boy people be getting salty with their safe spaces

Since I just got blocked on someone's question, I'll go ahead and repeat theirs here.

Has immigration--legal and illegal--contributed positively to US society and the economy in any significant way in recent times?

Not seeking confirmation bias to my own static view. Question is open to all ages, not just above the age of 40.

Yeah, of course. Very obviously.

One of the most important industries in the United States is IT, and there's a TON Of immigration and cross-border travel that occurs in IT. If you want to be the best in the world, you need to include the entire world in your talent pool, right? Resource exploitation is another big one - America want to be kings of oil it just makes sense to get some talent from other major oil-producing countries.

There's also a basic economic benefit of a larger labour pool which immigration provides. If there are more people to hire, firms expand the kind of jobs which are available. This gets people away from just 'keeping the lights on' in businesses and lets firms get innovative and invest in new things. There are a ton of other positive economic impacts from immigration as well.

I could also get into the incredible cultural benefits from immigration but this is long enough. You get the picture.
