The Light Is Still Mine
Grief can make the world feel very small.
And then, unexpectedly, life sends you a little softness.
A kind conversation.
An old acquaintance becoming a new friend.
Intelligence and wit, warmth and charm.
A reason to smile when smiling hasn’t come easily lately.
And somewhere in that lightness, I felt a spark of myself again.
I felt alive.
Not healed. Not finished grieving. My heart still aches for what I’ve lost.
But beneath the sadness, I could feel her.
The vibrant, sensual, beautiful woman I am.
The woman who laughs and banters and feels deeply.
Who is curious and warm and open to being delighted by life.
She didn’t disappear. Grief just dimmed her for now.
And perhaps that little spark was a reminder: the light is still mine.
It always was.
Sometimes, we just need a gentle, unexpected reminder that it’s still there.
And then, unexpectedly, life sends you a little softness.
A kind conversation.
An old acquaintance becoming a new friend.
Intelligence and wit, warmth and charm.
A reason to smile when smiling hasn’t come easily lately.
