I'm so thankful for this. The devil tries to drag us down each day, but I'm not flinching. I'm not going that way.
This is why I read the Bible and pray. This is our armor against our enemy, the devil. Having God by my side in spiritual battles against the enemy, is a true blessing. In moments of struggle, leaning on His strength and finding encouragement makes all the difference.
Here is some encouragement from the Lord and perspectives to remember when standing firm in your faith:
Submit and Resist:
James 4:7, which states: "Turn yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you".
Drawing near to God, gives you the strength to stand firm. The Bible reminds us that when you turn to God and resist the devil, he will flee.
The Power of Praise:
Many believers find that focusing on praise and worship is a powerful way to lift your spirit and push back against the darkness.
"You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You." Isaiah 26:3
When we fix our thoughts on God, instead of our worries, fears, or problems, He fills us with His peace. This is our spiritual weapon against Satan.
The Armor of God:
You are equipped with truth, righteousness, and the shield of faith to stand against any of life's spiritual challenges.
BLESSED ART THOU O LORD; teach me thy statutes. The angelic host was filled with awe when it saw thee among the dead. By destroying the power of death, O Saviour, thou didst raise Adam and save all men from hell.
Blessed art thou O Lord, teach me thy statutes. ‘Why do you mingle myrrh with your tears of compassion, O ye women disciples?’ cried the radiant angel in the tomb to the myrrh-bearers. ‘Behold the tomb and understand: the Saviour is risen from the dead.’
Blessed art thou O Lord, teach me thy statutes. Very early in the morning the myrrh-bearers ran with sorrow to thy tomb, but an angel came to them and said: ‘The time for sorrow has come to an end. Do not weep, but announce the resurrection to the apostles.’
Blessed art thou O Lord, teach me thy statutes. The myrrh-bearers were sorrowful as they neared the tomb but the angel said to them: ‘Why do you number the living amongst the dead? Since he is God, He is risen from the tomb.’ Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. We worship the Father, and his Son, and the Holy Spirit. The Holy Trinity, one in essence. We cry with the seraphim: ‘Holy, holy, holy art thou, O Lord.’ Both now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen. Since thou didst give birth to the Giver of Life, O Virgin, thou didst deliver Adam from his sin. Thou gavest joy to Eve instead of sadness. The God-man who was born of thee has restored to life those who had fallen from it. Alleluia. Glory to thee, O God!
