How much are you supposed to be able to stand whining from a loved one?

The air conditioning is down so it is hot as balls in the house. We got a ridiculous quote for a new system and my broad is whining and complaining about it and how uncomfortable it is upstairs at night. I am there suffering with her while doing all of the work of trying to get it fixed or replaced alone. I tell her that I dont want to hear whining because it only makes a stressful situation worse (but like most women, she can never check her emotions). She says she is whining at the contractors and the prices they are quoting; not me. I said they are NOT here for your nagging and whining - I am! She does this all the time whenever she is not happy with something. I dont think it is fair to unload on me all of the time when you know I am doing everything that I can and somethings are out of our control.
Am I so wrong for that?
