Learning to Be Truly Heard - What Real Freedom Feels Like
"The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit."– Psalm 34:18
Testimony / Reflection:
Over the years, I learned a powerful truth: being heard is not just about words—it’s about respect, safety, and connection. There was a time when as a child, I could not fully express what I felt. I couldn't even defend myself when I knew I was in the right, but they thought I was wrong. I carried anger, fear, and frustration from years of not being able to defend myself, from being silenced, or from situations where my voice didn’t matter.
Through experience, prayer, and practice, I learned that true freedom comes when I can articulate my feelings clearly and be met with understanding, rather than judgment or correction. I learned that nobody can violate my spirit when I am anchored in my boundaries and my worth. I learned that verbalizing my truth, asserting my needs, and honoring my voice, brings profound peace and empowerment. Everyone deserves to have their own voice and to be heard.
