You don't have to change your life: First of all, take stock of what you are doing with your SPARE time, eg, do you watch TV; play on your computer; read a book; go to the pub or elsewhere just to relax? The point is to recapture time 'lost' that you can redirect to something constructive so you feel yourself building your self-worth (self-esteem),
For me that was volunteering so I could help other people. It doesn't have to be a 'routine' - same time/same day each week - all that's needed is an inspiration of 'being responsible' for something other than what you are expected to do at your work. examples (again): Scout leader; visit people in hospital; work at a food bank; walk a section of highway picking up trash; rock babies in a maternity ward.... do it once in a while and feel useful.
