What is your advice for expanding your horizons, when your world has become small?

I am genuinely interested in hearing your suggestions, stories or thoughts on something you did or experienced that expanded your horizons.

My world has become small and routine, you know, small as in the routine of: work, sleep, repeat. Same people same places, same mental resolve, round n round.. I look forward to hearing any advice.

@BrandNewMan i volunteered for habitat for humanity when i was in varsity, for extra credits, the hardest thing was helping put up the roof, carrying heavy roof tiles up a ladder at least 20 x that day. I feel asleep on the bus ride back to the dorms, id never been so exhausted before. But it was enriching to see how people in the informal settlement, who get granted govt housing live and go about their lives.

@Rudboy41 Was doing it on Saturdays when my wife was working as an ER clerk with a couple older guys I worked with. Really enjoyed it.
