I've never been truly snowed in, just inconvenienced for a while.
Snow is rare here in Southern England, and it was last a problem for me something like fifteen years ago, only for a week, and I was not trapped. I was merely unable to use my car, as I lived in a housing-estate on a hill, and the roads and residents' car-parks were not cleared so became covered in ice.
I was able to commute by train, though with a cautious, rather unpleasant walk at each end of the journey.
So nothing like the horrendous conditions people in many other parts of the world have to endure.
