Is $35k-$40k alot annually for a salary?

So far from my little side businesses, I’ve only made $17,000 this year 😭😭 somebody was saying $40,000 a year is not a lot. It is if you’ve only making $17,000. I mean 40k may not be enough to live on and you may not have any money left over to save but at least you’ll have your bills paid! It’s enough for that and nothing else. you won’t be in a negative like me. So many times this year I’ve had to ask my boyfriend and my mom to help me with my car payment. I feel like if I made 40K a year I wouldn’t have to ask them anymore. So yeah, I definitely take that job! I can’t afford to discriminate

@Rokan oh I see. That makes sense. I don’t know why I always assume people live in small towns on here 🤣 lol but I live in DFW and our mortgage is around $3400 and we have HOA fees and he barely makes over 100 grand and then add in my little 17 grand that I make and our household income is around 120-123k and we’ve been struggling financially so yeah I get it 😭😭
