It’s just why wouldn’t you want to be in your kids’s life and teaching them ?

Parenting is more than feeding them breakfast and taking them to school, that’s literally the bare minimum and a lot of parents think that’s all they have to do and I feel like they only do that just so CPS won’t be up their butts. They will do the bare minimum for their kids. And even though that isn’t neglect in the legal sense, you are still a sh!tty parent. Like, Imagine being a surgeon and only doing the bare minimum of what you legally have to instead of going above and beyond for your patients to ensure that they get the best outcome. This is my issue with my cousin and other parents like her.

I wish parents would find joy out of actively shaping their kid’s lives instead of making parenting seem like a chore or a check list. I wish more people would see parenting as a privilege. You basically get a second chance at life if you didn’t have a good childhood. You get to guide them. You get to equip them with tools you didn’t have so they start further ahead than you did. because I look at parenting as being a cheat code for your kids. You get to teach them everything you learned and all the mistakes you learned you teach them so that they don’t make the same mistakes that you made even if it’s little mistakes like tying your shoes securely so that you don’t trip. Idk. It’s just there are some mistakes kids shouldn’t have to make just because their parents don’t teach them it shouldn’t have to be a learned lesson later on when they could’ve just had better parents to teach them. Especially financial mistakes. get them ahead as possible. That is what raising kids mean!! you’re not managing them. You’re supposed to be raising them!

Ugh, yes! Don't take children of you're not going to be there for them beyond the bare minimum. I'm actually happy to see more and more people say "nope, I'm not giving birth in a world where everyone is struggling".
