Which death of 2k16 has affected you the most?

For me it was David Bowie.

None of them, honestly. I mean, I didn't know them as people; they were just celebrities. Beyond there not being any future works by them, how could it impact me in any way?
I guess if you enjoyed their work, there not being any future work by them would be something. 😕

There's a difference between enjoying someone's work and worshipping them
@Kiwi-Dan: With respect, nothing was said about worshipping them.

@bijouxbroussard: And yet people act as though a demigod died, when they were no more or less human than anyone else

@Kiwi-Dan: have you ever listened to Bowie's music though? His music is out of this world

@PaulMcCartney: To you. That does not make one a hero of mankind despite how people seem to act.

Sorry, I'm just tired of people acting like it's the end of the world, and like their lives have been torn utterly asunder when a celebrity dies. They are not suffering Damnatio Immemoriae, and their works are available more or less whenever someone wants them. Just because there will be no new stuff by/featuring them does not mean that their entire back catalogue is being erased as well

@Kiwi-Dan: my life has been torn apart, you have no idea
SW-User
@PaulMcCartney: How?

@Kiwi-Dan: I did some really drastic things in my life because of it. Why does it bother you so much that people are affected by someone dying?

@PaulMcCartney: I've left this until now so that way I could think over what you said, and not be blinded by frustration like I was last night. It bothers me because of, for lack of a better term, disparity of attention that people show. They'll mourn people they've never met because they like their music/movies/etc while utterly ignoring those closer to them who have far greater impact on their lives. My frustration stems from this disparity, because I tend to get overlooked by almost everyone while having to watch people go on and on about a celebrity they don't even know. It would be different if they were your personal friend or a family member, and not part of a one-sided "relationship" (for lack of a better term) that they have no idea is even going on. Does that make sense?

@Kiwi-Dan: well not everyone has someone close. I don't really talk to my family and I am not that close to them. I also don't have friends or people close enough to call a friend. I feel closer to the musicians more than my own family. I can relate to them more than my family. Nota everyone is the same.
