I had to have the water turned off this evening because of a broken pipe under the house. I'll get a plumber, hopefully first thing tomorrow. Isn't life wonderful?

I know this though - people think it is SO great to have home ownership but there are just as many drawbacks. They talk about equity but then that equity eventually goes to pay for things like major repairs anyways.
No matter how someone slices it, we are going to be paying through the nose our entire lives to live somewhere whether renting or "owning" a house.
Then once the house is paid off and we retire, our savings and profits from the home sale get hoover'ed up by the retirement home we move to.
@CestManan Yeah, I'm beginning to wonder if hubby and I should sell the house and move into the small apartments across our alley, which I think we'll do eventually anyway. Everything you said is so true.
