Jail cured my social anxiety and Avoidant Personality Disorder

it may have been forced exposure but it was therapy nonetheless. The CO’s couldn’t get a read on my positive energy. Jail isn’t supposed to be a place where you’re happy but I was.

Those first 30 days confused them too when I was in solitary. It’s not so bad but when I accidentally said I was okay to go to General population, I didn’t realize this was what I needed. The next 60 days I overcame my social anxiety.

Jail was rock bottom but it saved me.

There was something healing about being around masculine energy 24/7. As soft as I was and as soft as I still am, it helped me somehow and I can’t quite explain why. I just know that it helped. Some of the inmates were complete trash but some really did have good hearts.

Josh, Kevin, Freeze, Albert, Rivers

Those dudes helped me out a bunch and they don’t even know it.

For the first time it felt like I belonged. There was a sense of brotherhood.

I ain’t some hard ass or anything like that. As a matter of fact I consider myself to be quite soft still. I just simply chose to get something positive out of my stay in jail.

You were in prison for traffic violations?

@mysteryespresso no, I was in jail for 2nd DUI

@mysteryespresso I live in Arizona. First DUI was a slap on the wrist despite hitting another driver. Driver wasn’t injured so I lucked out there. I especially lucked out because I didn’t spend a single hour in jail the first time.

Second time I was simply pulled over but my blood alcohol content was above .20

I lost my car, I have to pay over $11,000 in fines and fees. I gotta install an IID once I start driving again.

Jail and prison are 2 different things.
@HermannFegelein $11,000 is a lot of money

@mysteryespresso It’s not too bad when you consider the rest of my situation. I live with my aunt and uncle. I only pay around $27 a month to live in a safe suburban home. I can pay this off within 6-8 months.

I’m a loser but I gotta do what I gotta do. I don’t drive but I ride an electric scooter that goes 20mph and 50 miles in range so I’ll be ok.
