"Mean" is a debatable, subjective word.
For instance...........and we all know these people.........when some people ask for advice and get back honest, constructive responses.....they are absolutely unable due to ego or whatever to accept what they are told...........even though it was designed to help him in a constructive way. A TON of people on SW personify this. To them if they hear "if you want a better life it is up to YOU to change how YOU live by stopping being a drunk......or a druggie........or whatever." Truthful honest advice in almost all cases like that.....and yet that honesty causes anger from the one it is offered too because "you were mean" to them.
True meanness is far different from an emotionally immature response to something designed to help them, that says "YOU need to change YOU".

@MaBalzEsHari I don't think l've ever in my lifetime been mean to anyone, just not who l am as a person. From what l can gather regarding others not understanding your perspective, they're are certain individuals who don't like someone trying to give their opinion. Sometimes they think you are criticizing them and lash out.

@sensualbeauty1 Agreed.......which is odd if you think about it. Why come to a "social media" site and ask others their opinions and help about their personal situation.........but then be offended when they get back what they were asking you to tell them?

That is so true. Sometimes I find that people who are really mean love to profess their meanness to everyone around them.

@Lilnonames Hello there, l always have tried to be the better person, l wasn't always silent when someone was unspeakably rude or miserable. I learned as l grew older silence is definitely golden.
