Individually...hold my calls ☎️

Generally yes...we are all in the same boat
revenant · F
@bookerdana are we ?
bookerdana · M
@revenant yes,we are joined by human need,experience and interdependence
revenant · F
@bookerdana perhaps on some kind of level but we are not there yet
bookerdana · M
@revenant It doesn't matter if anyone realizes it ,it is simple fact....we are social by nature and experience

No man is an island,

Entire of itself;

Every man is a piece of the continent,

A part of the main.

If a clod be washed away by the sea,

Europe is the less,

As well as if a promontory were:

As well as if a manor of thy friend's

Or of thine own were.

Any man's death diminishes me,

Because I am involved in mankind.

And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls;
...
It tolls for thee. John Donne .....[1572-1631]

@bookerdana I get that...but in the Grand Scheme of things and if everybody was aware or enlightened or something like that. The earth sadly is not entirely populated with airybenevolent angels
bookerdana · M
@revenant Civilization is held together by so little;if you ever read the book,Lord of the Flies where some children basically go from choir boys to savages in a very brief time...I can neither see nor know The Grand Scheme of Things but if you lose your humanity,and compassion you are truly lost...I try to be aware of the angels of our better nature,as Lincoln called them.....it matters little if a man gains the whole world and loses his soul

@bookerdana I saw the old movie. Very good !! I do not think it is a question of losing one's humanity..
Actually I WANT to keep my humanity and not want it to be all gobbled up by inhumane people and sadly too many of those exist.
I believe that Inhumanity and NON humanity are very dangerous and contagious.

@revenant As Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn said,"“If only it were all so simple! If only there were evil people somewhere insidiously committing evil deeds, and it were necessary only to separate them from the rest of us and destroy them. But the line dividing good and evil cuts through the heart of every human being. And who is willing to destroy a piece of his own heart?”

We are all connected,good and bad
revenant · F
@bookerdana The thing is..if you or I had suffered or knew someone had suffered or be killed or horrible stuff in the hand of a psychopath , we should not be made to feel guilty if our heart is not big enough to " understand" the other side.
There is too much appearances of pathological altruism going on..fake.
bookerdana · M
@revenant True,though the paradigm is forgive those who do evil to you,its sometimes a real strain...yet I've seen storiesof Moms who met with their son/daughters murderer and forgave them..btw not related but I hope you have a great Easter
revenant · F
@bookerdana They are grand human beings. Would I be capable ? I do not know. Perhaps yes and perhaps no. Hey Happy Easter to you too !
bookerdana · M
@revenant I think that would be the feeling of 99,99% of humanity..the Shadow may say Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men....who knows what good there might be?
